The Outsider Premiere

To promote their new series, The Outsider, HBO was looking for a unique photo experience that would play on the show’s doppelgänger premise and provide a surprise and delight moment for fans. We brought the show to life with a fully propped set, based on settings from the show, with a unique twist taken right from its plot. Fans at events in New York and LA explored two settings inspired by The Outsider. The first was a spooky wooded area with cold lighting and twisted trees and the second was an unsettling home interior with stark contrasting lighting and propped with creepy objects. Fans posed for a photo in front of their preferred backdrop and then received both printed and digital takeaways but with an unexpected twist. Instead of one image, they discovered images of themselves in front of both backdrops. This gave the appearance of being in two places at once, a direct tie to the premise of the show. The event was incredibly popular, with nearly 100% of those in attendance participating and some returning multiple times.
